Writing Contests

Jun 24, 2013 by

I had a lot of fun with Writer’s Digest contest and apparently they do one of these contests called “Your Story” every month where you have to write a short story or an opening line based on what they give you.

I’m going to start keeping up with them so I figured I might as well keep you updated here or you can bookmark this page or both if you want to see my entries after their over.

This months is almost over so I’m late telling you this but you have till July 15th to write a short story (750 words or fewer) with the opening line: “Heads, we get married; tails, we break up.”

At first I thought this was impossible; one, how can someone be just as OK with both results; and two, how can it start like that? But I think I’ve done an OK job, it’ll need editing before I submit it though.

Speaking of which you can submit your entry here.

Sorry I’m so late, I’ll try to stay more current from here on out. Hey if they change them the first of each month I’ll add it to my first of the month posts (wow, that sounded redundant.)

So I think I’m done rambling now, as one of my favorite authors always says “Have fun, and save what you write!”
